Student feedback
I take student feedback very seriously. Students have very good insight with regards to the performance of an instructor, and are usually candid about how well the class fit their needs. Student surveys can also provide important guidance related to potential areas of improvement. I am proud of the positive survey results I have received over the years, and I strive to use this feedback to constantly re-assess and improve my performance. Sample survey excerpts and pdf's of the complete surveys (for each of the CASB modules) can be found below. Also, please take a look at the Student survey wordle on the Introduction page wherein a word cloud has been created based on all the student feedback I received during 2011.
Survey excerpts
Mod 6, 2011 - "Sam is an amazing facilitator. He keeps everyone engaged throughout the whole class. Also, he never really stressed one way to study or another. Sam told us different people's perspectives on studying and encouraged us to find out what works for us."
Mod 5, 2011 - "He was (the most) personable, engaging, funny and helpful FFIS teacher I have had to date. He encouraged group discussions and took the time to sufficiently answer student questions. He also helped me understand how to improve my writing for the exam by being clear and succinct. This was the most enjoyable face-to-face session I have ever attended and it made the weekend go by quickly."
Mod 4, 2011 - "Sam was fantastic - super enthusiastic and facilitated great discussion in the class."
Mod 3, 2011 - "Sam is great at keeping the students engaged and he always attempts to address the underlying reason for all calculations rather than reinforcing memorization of tasks."
Mod 2, 2011 - "Sam was an absolutely extraordinary instructor! He took the time to explain things in a level of detail that was easily understood. He ensured that everyone had a chance to participate and was unique in his approach to dealing with problems and providing examples and personal anecdotes to illustrate points of interest."
Mod 1, 2011 - "Honestly, Sam was a fantastic face-to-face facilitator. He presented the material in an understandable and interesting manner. At the same time, I thought he was funny and kept the weekend interesting. He (has) rejuvenated an excitement to learn the materials."
